TOMAS SANCHEZ, Biography
Born: 1948 - Aguada de Pasajeros, Cienfuegos, Cuba.
Studies: 1964 - National Academy of Plastic Arts San Alejandro. 1971 - National School of Art (ENA).
Experience: After graduated, until 1976 Professor and Head of Chair of Engraving at the National School of Art. Puppets Workshop of the Direction of Theater of the Ministry of Culture with the appointment of scenographic designer and dolls of Theater for Children. Member of the Puppet Group of UNESCO.
Awards: He has received important prizes and recognitions: First Prize of Painting and Lithography, Third Hall of Teachers and Instructors of Plastic Arts of Havana, Cuba; First Prize for Painting, First National Landscape Contest Leopoldo Romañach in Guantánamo, Cuba; XIX Joan Miró International Drawing Prize in Barcelona, Spain; National Painting Prize, I Biennial of Havana, Cuba; Medal of the V Biennial of American Graphic Art of Cali, Colombia; Honorable Mention, I International Painting Biennial in Cuenca, Ecuador; and other awards and recognitions.
